EV-Lution IV, une exposition dédiée à la mobilité électrique, se tiendra le 7 novembre 2023 à Kingston, en Jamaïque.
L’événement vise à encourager l’adoption de véhicules électriques (VE) dans les Caraïbes, alors que le secteur des transports représente près de 39 % des émissions de gaz à effet de serre en Amérique latine et dans la région des Caraïbes. Les VE sont reconnus pour leur efficacité, leur respect de l’environnement et leur coût potentiellement inférieur à celui des véhicules à moteur à combustion interne.
L’exposition est l’un des points forts du Mois de l’énergie de la CARICOM (CEM) 2023 et coïncide avec le Huitième Forum caribéen sur l’énergie durable (CSEF 8). Le thème de CEM 2023, « Accélérer l’innovation – Favoriser l’électrification », souligne l’importance de l’innovation dans le domaine de l’énergie et de l’électrification pour s’adapter aux évolutions du secteur.
EV-Lution IV offrira une expérience immersive aux participants, mettant en avant les dernières avancées en matière de technologie des VE et leur potentiel pour transformer la région. L’exposition présentera des présentations interactives de VE, des essais routiers, des technologies de charge avancées et des systèmes intelligents de gestion de l’énergie. Des institutions financières et des compagnies d’assurance seront également présentes pour expliquer les moyens d’acquérir un VE.
L’événement est organisé par le Secrétariat de la CARICOM, le Centre caribéen de l’énergie renouvelable et de l’efficacité énergétique (CCREEE) et l’Association jamaïcaine des véhicules électriques, avec le soutien de la Banque de développement des Caraïbes, de la Banque interaméricaine de développement, de New Energy Events et de Tropical Mobility.
Le Dr. Devon Gardner, responsable des programmes techniques du CCREEE, souligne l’importance de cette plateforme pour accélérer la transition vers la mobilité électrique. Il est convaincu que les VE représentent l’avenir des transports, offrant une option plus propre et durable pour la région. L’événement réunira des leaders de l’industrie, des passionnés et des consommateurs soucieux de l’environnement, offrant ainsi une opportunité d’explorer et d’apprendre sur le futur de la mobilité électrique dans un contexte où le monde recherche des solutions de transport plus durables.

EV-Lution IV to feature the latest in electric mobility
Bridgetown, Nov. 3, 2023 – With the transport sector accounting for nearly 39 per cent of the total greenhouse gas emissions in Latin America and the Caribbean, there is no better time for the Caribbean to consider the switch to electric vehicles (EVs), which are proven to be, efficient, environmentally friendly and may cost less over their lifetime when compared to traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.
The EV-Lution IV Exhibition will be held on Tuesday, November 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the AC Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica to promote electric mobility in the Caribbean. This exhibition is one of the major events of CARICOM Energy Month (CEM) 2023 and will take place alongside the Eighth Caribbean Sustainable Energy Forum (CSEF 8), which is scheduled to run from November 7 to 9, 2023, also in Kingston, Jamaica. CEM 2023’s theme – Accelerating Innovation – Driving Electrification, highlights innovation’s importance in the energy and electrification markets and its role in adapting existing technologies to match the changing landscape.
EV-Lution IV promises an immersive experience for attendees, featuring the latest advancements in electric vehicle technology and how, if embraced, it can transform our region. As the premier EV awareness event in the Caribbean, it will showcase, among other things, interactive EV displays and test drives, cutting-edge charging technologies, and intelligent energy management systems from leading manufacturers. Commercial banks and insurance companies will also be on hand to share how you can get your own EV on the road. This EV event is hosted by the CARICOM Secretariat, the Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE) and the Jamaica Electric Vehicle Association, with support from the Caribbean Development Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, New Energy Events, and Tropical Mobility.
